Instructions

Test Broadcasting Quality

Set up Retro Ping next to your computer when you are streaming (Skype, Zoom, Hangouts). Now you will know if it is the right moment to say something legit to impress your boss... or keep your mouth shut because your connection is bad and the audio will cut out and make you look like a dweeb.

Test Game Server Connectivity

Put your phone into its charging dock on your desk, and keep Retro Ping running while you are playing a game (League of Legends, CS GO, Fortnite). Now you will know if its the right moment to come out of that bush, or chill out because your latency is whack.

Test Your WiFi Skillz!

You can use Retro Ping to test and adjust your WiFi environment. Just connect your phone to your WiFi and walk around your crib with Retro Ping running to test your signal. Move your antennas and or 14.4k modem and try again until its wicked fast! If you can load webpages faster than you can drink a Tab, then youre solid.

Test Your Cell Reception

Got 5 status bars, but you cannot load MySpace, your BBS, or any other website? Dont freak out, there can be all sorts of interference in the world. Walk around watching Retro Ping to see which areas are a buzz kill and which are dope.

How does Retro Ping work?

* It runs a test on your latency every .25 seconds (woah).
* It will not cause any bandwidth issues to run this test a ping uses almost no network resources.
* The app works by pinging the Cloudflare DNS resolver (1.1.1.1) which routes you to the closest DNS server - so it will work well almost anywhere in the world (CF has servers in 200 cities in more than 90 countries).
